The ACRAT project adopts a multi-stakeholder approach, integrating various perspectives and expertise to create a resilient and sustainable agricultural framework. Leveraging advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), the project develops data-driven solutions tailored to the specific needs of small-scale farmers in Telangana. By involving farmers, researchers, policymakers, and technology providers, the project bridges the gap between macro-level policies and micro-level challenges faced by individual farmers. This ensures that the solutions are both scalable and locally relevant. The comprehensive strategy includes technological integration, capacity building, and continuous collaboration with various stakeholders. At the core of the project is the creation of a test hub by integrating existing platforms such as the Agricultural Data Exchange (ADeX) and the German NaLaMKI platform for data exchange, while also addressing interoperability issues. This hub will provide real-time information and actionable insights to farmers.
This platform will enable farmers to make informed decisions that enhance their productivity and resource efficiency. Multiple capacity-building participatory workshops, training sessions, and webinars will enhance the digital literacy and technical skills of local communities, promoting knowledge exchange.. The project will also validate technology on farmers; fields by integrating local knowledge streams from farmers, the agricultural scientific community, and technology providers to ensure practical and effective solutions. Thus the way project incorporates computer vision with a human-in-the-loop approach to ensure accuracy and relevance in its technological applications.
The ACRAT project primarily targets small-scale farmers and women farmers, focusing on their empowerment and capacity building. These groups benefit directly from the integration of advanced technologies and sustainable farming practices. By providing digital, technology-based decision support tools, the project aims to enhance their crop yields, improve resource efficiency, and elevate their livelihoods. Special emphasis is placed on women farmers to ensure their inclusion in decision-making processes, enhance their economic opportunities, and preserve traditional agricultural practices. Through participatory workshops, training sessions, and continuous stakeholder engagement, the project strives to build their technical skills and digital literacy, fostering a more resilient and sustainable agricultural community. This comprehensive and inclusive approach fosters sustainable and resilient agricultural development in Telangana.
