AgHub Rural Innovation Spokes

Introduction

AgHub was established in October 2020 at PJTAU, Hyderabad, with NABARD support to promote agricultural innovation, startup incubation, and rural entrepreneurship. Through its Hub-and-Spoke model, AgHub connects its central incubation hub with three Rural Innovation Spokes at Warangal, Jagtial, and Vikarabad/Tandur, covering Telangana’s major agro-climatic regions. Functionally active since 2022, these spokes engage farmers, FPOs, SHGs, rural youth, women entrepreneurs, and grassroots innovators, bridging the gap between emerging agricultural technologies and rural needs.

The Rural Innovation Spokes nurture ideas into viable enterprises through incubation, technology demonstrations, research support, capacity building, bootstrap grants, and market linkages. Initiatives such as Agritech Market Access Programs (AgMAP) help startups validate and scale solutions under real farming conditions. Their activities span farm mechanization, precision agriculture, natural farming, aquaculture, waste management, natural dye textiles, drone services, and agricultural marketing. By strengthening access to technology, finance, and institutional support, the spokes promote resilient agriculture, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive rural development.
