GIZ, through its Green Innovation Centre (GIC) and APMAS are working on improving the Tomato Value Chain through FPOs in eight Mandals of Chittoor District around Madanapalle region for the promotion of innovative production practices to reduce cost of cultivation, further enhancing productivity. As part of the venture, the team worked closely with Ms. Krishna Radha, a woman farmer in Madanapalle, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. Ms. Krishna Radha, Chairperson of M-Tomato federation was conferred with the ‘Woman Game Changers Award’ by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) for which she will be supported in aspects like capacity building, entrepreneurship, etc. AgHub at PJTAU was approached by APMAS and GIC[1]GIZ to impart suitable training to Ms. Krishna Radha for establishing her own business, and also providing market links in the due process.

Outcomes of the Training
- Sensitized the trainee towards opportunities for livelihood enhancement in farm and non-farm sectors.
- Developed workable protocols of practice and skill sets for the trainee.
